DR Levels and Current State
Our DR planning covers the following scenarios -
Normal Operation - No systems are affected, you can work in our main NYC office as normal.
Level 1 - A problem that affects physical access to the office, but does not affect any or our IT systems. For example the NYC steam pipe explosion that prevented some businesses from entering their buildings, but did not affect building services. This includes a partial transit problem such that some subset of the office cannot make it in.
Level 2 - A problem that affects our NYC based IT infrastructure and prevents normal operation of our IT services. For example a Con-Ed failure that affects all power to our NYC building.
Level 3 - A problem that affects both our NYC and remote DR infrastructure. In this event all IT systems are down. For example a malicious attack on our services that affects all our IT systems.
Level Specific Information
Level 1 issue
In this scenario, all our IT systems and phone systems are working, but some or all of our staff cannot make it into the office.
Employees can VPN in to the standard address and access individual work computers as normal.

Level 2 issue
In this scenario some or all of our NY-based server and network infrastructure is down.
Be sure to monitor this site every hour or so for new updates and information.
Employees can VPN in to the emergency address and access either the NY-based terminal server or, if that is unavailable, the VA-based terminal server. From here all fileshares and virtual servers can be reached, though depending on circumstances the data may be a few hours old.

Level 3 issue
In this incredibly rare scenario, all company IT systems will be inoperable.
Be sure to monitor this site every hour or so for new updates and information.
